TWO FISTED GEORGE MOODY

One of Bangor's finest pickers of all time...

George Elwin Moody Was born in Belfast on May 9th 1933 He played the clubs on the strip in Bangor for many years. He also played in Rockaind with Dick Curless at the Thorndike Hotel and an endless sea of Town Halls, Bars and Night Clubs all over Maine and Canada.

He did a lot of studio work with a number of Maine's great players and later toured Canada for many years until his death in 1990 at age 54. George's guitar was then placed on display in the Canadian Hall of Fame. It can still be found there for all to see.

He was one of the orignal Top Hands that played with Curley O'Brien, Jackie King, and The Top Hands on a regular daily TV Show. In fact, George played with everyone in town at one time or another.

His ability on Guitar was unsurpassed and he sang in the George Jones style. George was one of a kind and we will never see the likes of him again.
